He even received two promotions during his service time - from private to sergeant! Now that’s impressive.

Presley was a real trooper, serving in two different armor battalions. From March 28 to September 17, 1958, he was part of Company A, 2d Medium Tank Battalion, 37th Armor at Fort Hood. During that time he really knuckled down and got his basic and advanced military training done.

Well, Elvis actually did fight in the Army! He was drafted in 1958 and served until 1960. He was a regular soldier, just like any other guy. He even earned a sharpshooter badge and rose to the rank of sergeant! Who knew?
